Measurement and size tables for disposable gloves, shoes, anti-slip socks and clothing

Determining the right size for disposable gloves

Why is the right size so important for disposable gloves?

Disposable gloves that are too tight can be very uncomfortable on the hands, while disposable gloves that are too large worsen the sense of touch and thus also hinder work.

Correct determination of the size of the PPE disposable glove

PPE disposable gloves are specified in sizes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.

To determine the correct size of your disposable gloves, all you need is a flexible measuring tape and the illustration below. The correct size of your disposable gloves is important so that you can reliably carry out precise work with the disposable gloves over a longer period of time. First measure the circumference of your hand at the widest point with a tape measure. This is usually at about the level of the knuckles. The tape measure should rest on the skin, but not press against the hand or cut into the skin.

Now read off the circumference of your hand and use the diagram to determine the appropriate glove size.

Correctly determine the size of the disposable medical glove

Medical disposable gloves are specified in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL.

To determine the correct size of a disposable medical glove, the width of the palm from the beginning of the index finger to the lowest point of the little finger is used. Usually, the width of the disposable glove is measured rather than the palm.

If you are unsure or are wavering between two sizes, you can request samples in both sizes from us free of charge and without obligation. This way you can try out which size feels best on your hands and with which glove the tactile sensation is best before you decide on a box or carton in the corresponding size.

Is your disposable medical glove also a PPE glove?

Your disposable medical glove also belongs to the PPE glove category and therefore has a special regulation of dimensions.

We have developed an individual size chart exclusively for you.

To determine the chest circumference, measure slightly below the armpits horizontally around the chest.

Body height is determined from the highest point of the head to the side of the foot.

01260-L Vinyl gloves, L, white, (clear)

We often recommend white and blue vinyl protective gloves for close-contact services, industry and the food industry. For the food industry, we particularly recommend blue, food-grade vinyl protective gloves, as whole vinyl protective gloves or sections of vinyl protective gloves can be found quickly and easily.

The properties of vinyl disposable gloves

Unlike latex gloves, vinyl gloves (base material: polyvinyl chloride, also known as PVC) are free from allergens; they are also a lower-priced alternative to latex and nitrile. Vinyl gloves are recommended when single-use gloves need to be changed frequently. The material is also suitable for handling acids, alkalis and other low-risk substances. Vinyl does not change under atmospheric influences, meaning that latex gloves are suitable for simple nursing duties, for limited use in laboratories, in the food industry and for cleaning work that does not involve contact with concentrated chemicals. The majority of vinyl gloves today do not contain the potentially hazardous phthalates diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) and diethylhexyl adipate (DEHA), which are plasticisers for PVC, and they generally do not contain any allergy-triggering substances, either.

These vinyl gloves are DOP/DEHP free.

Vinyl disposable gloves in material thickness: "thin"

Thanks to the thin material (0.05 mm to a maximum of 0.09 mm thick), this product offers good tactile sensitivity, and the breakthrough time is higher than in an ultra-thin disposable glove or finger cot of similar material. This protective product is also more durable and longer-lasting than thinner disposables.

Quality of the vinyl disposable gloves

These vinyl disposable gloves from the Eco-Plus brand are of "classic" quality. AMPri exclusively sells products of either a very solid basic standard of quality, a more deluxe "classic" quality or impressive "premium" quality. The powder-free, non-sterile, single-use glove is ambidextrous (can be used on the left or the right hand). It has no extra length, which means it does not provide splash protection. This product features the special characteristic "dOP/DEHP free". The Vinyl disposable gloves deliver significant added value because they protect against potentially fatal hazards or irreversible damage to health, as they fulfil the requirements for category III personal protective equipment (PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425). Among other things, they protect the skin from hazardous substances and compounds and offer protection from cuts. In addition, the vinyl protective gloves have a CE marking indicating that they are a class I medical device. This classification mainly comprises products that have no impact on the human body and pose minimal risk. These vinyl disposable gloves are only approved for non-sterile applications. The AQL value represents the quality standard of a batch or lot (acceptable quality limit). For medical disposable gloves, this value for tightness may be a maximum of 1.5, whereby the following generally applies: the lower the AQL value, the more convincing the production. These vinyl protective gloves meet the requirements with an AQL value of 1.5.

Our recommendations for how vinyl gloves should be used

Vinyl gloves are particularly appropriate for acidic food, dry food and watery food and, consequently, are intended for food handling in general. The vinyl protective gloves offer protection from microorganisms, meaning that they are resistant to viruses, bacteria and fungi. Chemical protection type B indicates that the vinyl disposable gloves provide protection against penetration according to the crucial EN 374 standard. It defines the minimum penetration time for a certain number of chemicals from a list of specified test chemicals. Type A = 6 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type B = 3 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type C = 1 test chemical/10 minutes. The gloves are also airtight and watertight. Consequently, we recommend vinyl disposable gloves for these sectors: close-contact services, industry and the food industry. If you have any questions about the potential uses of these vinyl disposable gloves or are unsure if they are the right solution for your requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us via the contact form!

The benefits of vinyl in protecting the hands

  • Vinyl is an ideal material for allergy sufferers because it is free from allergenic proteins and sensitising substances.
  • The soft and satiny vinyl material is extremely comfortable to wear.
  • It offers dependable protection, even when it comes into contact with irritants, because vinyl provides excellent resistance to acids, alkalis and other chemicals (except concentrated chemicals).

The downsides of vinyl

  • Vinyl protective gloves do not conform to the shape of the hand nearly as closely as latex single-use gloves or nitrile disposable gloves.
  • Vinyl gloves are also not particularly elastic.
  • In food processing, vinyl protective gloves can only be used to a limited extent, as they are not approved for use with oily or greasy foods. Single-use vinyl protective gloves may be treated with plasticisers that are fat-soluble. Plasticisers (phthalates) such as DEHP (diethylhexyl phthalate) or DEHA (diethylhexyl adipate) are a potential health hazard.
