01035-5 Latex finger cots, XL, white
Latex is extracted from rubber trees, making it the only natural material used in producing single-use gloves. Its outstanding properties ensure comfortable wear. Consequently, there is not yet a suitable replacement for latex, despite extensive research into substitute materials. Latex gloves are frequently found in clinics and health care facilities, doctors' or dentists' surgeries and nursing homes, as well as in food production and processing (to a limited extent, as cross-contamination can occur; nitrile is preferable here). Latex is a cost-effective alternative to vinyl or nitrile.
These finger cots from the Med-Comfort brand are "premium" quality. AMPri exclusively sells products of either a very consistent basic standard of quality, a more upscale "classic" quality or impressive "premium" quality. The finger cots are ambidextrous (can be used on either hand). These latex protective gloves are only approved for non-sterile use. We therefore recommend latex gloves for the following sectors: the food industry and industry. If you have any questions about the possible applications of these latex gloves or are unsure if they are right for your needs, please feel free to reach out to us via the contact form!
The benefits of latex as a hand protection material
- Latex is a wholly natural product and is highly supple.
- Latex provides good tactile sensitivity.
- Latex gloves and finger cots also keep the wearer safe from a wide range of acids and alkalis.
The disadvantages of latex
- Unfortunately, fluctuations in price cannot be ruled out, as latex is a natural raw material dependent on harvest yields and market prices.
- Water-soluble proteins contained in latex can cause allergies if the gloves are worn often. In addition to the latex products themselves, the powder on the latex gloves or finger cots (powdered version) is also a significant allergen.
- Oils and solvents can easily penetrate latex disposable gloves and finger cots, so latex is not approved for handling such substances.
