Measurement and size tables for disposable gloves, shoes, anti-slip socks and clothing

Determining the right size for disposable gloves

Why is the right size so important for disposable gloves?

Disposable gloves that are too tight can be very uncomfortable on the hands, while disposable gloves that are too large worsen the sense of touch and thus also hinder work.

Correct determination of the size of the PPE disposable glove

PPE disposable gloves are specified in sizes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.

To determine the correct size of your disposable gloves, all you need is a flexible measuring tape and the illustration below. The correct size of your disposable gloves is important so that you can reliably carry out precise work with the disposable gloves over a longer period of time. First measure the circumference of your hand at the widest point with a tape measure. This is usually at about the level of the knuckles. The tape measure should rest on the skin, but not press against the hand or cut into the skin.

Now read off the circumference of your hand and use the diagram to determine the appropriate glove size.

Correctly determine the size of the disposable medical glove

Medical disposable gloves are specified in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL.

To determine the correct size of a disposable medical glove, the width of the palm from the beginning of the index finger to the lowest point of the little finger is used. Usually, the width of the disposable glove is measured rather than the palm.

If you are unsure or are wavering between two sizes, you can request samples in both sizes from us free of charge and without obligation. This way you can try out which size feels best on your hands and with which glove the tactile sensation is best before you decide on a box or carton in the corresponding size.

Is your disposable medical glove also a PPE glove?

Your disposable medical glove also belongs to the PPE glove category and therefore has a special regulation of dimensions.

We have developed an individual size chart exclusively for you.

To determine the chest circumference, measure slightly below the armpits horizontally around the chest.

Body height is determined from the highest point of the head to the side of the foot.

01260-S Vinyl gloves, S, white

We recommend the use of white vinyl disposable gloves for close-contact services, industry and the food industry.

The properties of vinyl disposable gloves

Vinyl or PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is a more affordable and hypo-allergenic alternative to latex and nitrile and is the first choice in situations when single-use gloves need to be changed often. Vinyl gloves are are safe to use with acids, alkalis and other chemicals that do not pose a major risk. Even atmospheric influences do not affect vinyl. Vinyl gloves are suitable for short periods of use in simple care duties, limited use in laboratories, the food industry and for cleaning work without contact with concentrated chemicals. Most vinyl gloves today do not contain the potentially hazardous phthalates diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) and diethylhexyl adipate (DEHA), which are plasticisers for PVC, and they generally do not contain any allergens, either.

These vinyl gloves are DOP/DEHP free.

Vinyl gloves in material thickness: "thin"

Thanks to the thin material (0.05 mm to a maximum of 0.09 mm in thickness), this product boasts good tactile sensitivity, and the breakthrough time is higher than in an ultra-thin disposable glove or finger cot of identical material. This protective product is also more durable and longer-lasting than thinner disposables.

Quality of the vinyl disposable gloves

These vinyl disposable gloves from the Eco-Plus brand are of "classic" quality. AMPri exclusively sells products of either a very consistent basic standard of quality, a more deluxe "classic" quality or top-notch "premium" quality. The powder-free, non-sterile, single-use glove is ambidextrous (can be used on the left or the right hand). It does not have additional length, which means it does not provide splash protection. "DOP/DEHP free" is a special attribute of these vinyl gloves. The Vinyl gloves deliver real added value because they protect against deadly hazards or irreversible adverse health effects, as they meet the requirements for category III personal protective equipment (PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425). Among other things, they prevent harmful substances and compounds from coming into contact with the skin and offer protection against cuts. Vinyl protective gloves are categorised as class I medical devices. This class encompasses medical items or products that have no impact on the body and usually pose very little risk. These vinyl gloves are only intended for non-sterile use. The production quality can be determined by the AQL value, i.e. the acceptable quality level. For disposable medical gloves, the AQL is 1.5 or less, which is exactly what these vinyl disposable gloves meet.

Our recommendations for how vinyl gloves should be used

Vinyl gloves are particularly appropriate for acidic food, dry food and watery food and, consequently, are approved for food handling in general. Protection from microorganisms is a main characteristic of these disposable gloves. The vinyl protective gloves protect against viruses, bacteria and fungi. Chemical protection type B signifies that the vinyl protective gloves provide protection against permeation as defined by the important EN 374 standard. This defines the minimum penetration time for a specific number of chemicals from a list of specified test chemicals. Type A = 6 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type B = 3 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type C = 1 test chemical/10 minutes. The gloves are also airtight and waterproof. We therefore recommend vinyl gloves for these sectors: close-contact services, industry and the food industry. If you have questions about the possible uses of these vinyl gloves or are not sure if they are the right solution for your requirements, please feel free to get in touch with us via the contact form!

The benefits of vinyl in protecting the hands

  • As a synthetic material, vinyl is free from possible allergens and other sensitisers.
  • Vinyl feels very soft and comfortable against the skin, providing the highest level of comfort for the wearer.
  • It affords dependable protection, even when it comes into contact with skin irritants, because vinyl provides strong resistance to acids, alkalis and other chemicals (except concentrated chemicals).

Vinyl protective gloves: the disadvantages of vinyl

  • Compared to nitrile disposable gloves or latex single-use gloves, vinyl gloves do not fit the shape of the wearer's hand as neatly.
  • Vinyl gloves are also considerably less elastic and have less wear resistance than latex or nitrile.
  • In food processing, vinyl gloves can only be used within a limited scope, as they should not come into contact with oily or fatty foods. Single-use vinyl gloves may contain plasticisers that are fat-soluble. Plasticisers (phthalates) such as DEHP (diethylhexyl phthalate) or DEHA (diethylhexyl adipate) are a potential health hazard.
