01038-XXL Latex protective gloves, XXL, white
We generally recommend white and blue latex protective gloves for close-contact services, occupational safety, government authorities, hospitals, other medicine, industry, the food industry and education. For the food industry, we particularly recommend blue, food-grade latex protective gloves, as whole latex protective gloves or sections of latex protective gloves can be found quickly and without much effort.
The properties of latex disposable gloves
Latex protective gloves and finger cots are - unlike disposable gloves made of vinyl or nitrile - products that come directly from nature. This is because the latex used in single-use gloves is obtained directly from rubber trees. Thanks to its exceptional physical properties and its comfort for the wearer, there is currently no suitable substitute for natural latex. Therefore, the main fields of use for disposable latex gloves include clinics and health care facilities, doctors' or dentists' surgeries and nursing homes, as well as food production and processing facilities (to a lesser extent, as cross-contamination can occur; nitrile is preferred here). Latex is a low-cost alternative to vinyl or nitrile.Latex gloves in material thickness: "medium thickness"
The material is somewhat thicker - this single-use product is between 0.09 mm and 0.16 mm thick (medium thickness), meaning that it is more resistant to punctures than a thin or ultra-thin disposable glove or finger cot. This disposable glove/finger cot is significantly stronger and harder-wearing than thinner products composed of this material.Quality of the latex disposable gloves
These latex disposable gloves from the Eco-Plus brand are of "classic" quality. AMPri exclusively sells products of either a very solid basic standard of quality, a more deluxe "classic" quality or impressive "premium" quality. The powder-free, non-sterile, disposable glove is ambidextrous (can be worn on either hand). It has no extra length, which means it does not offer splash protection. The latex gloves gloves are fingertip textured, so they deliver a much more effective grip than non-textured disposable gloves. As category III personal protective equipment as defined by the PPE Regulation ((EU) 2016/425), they provide protection from health hazards that are permanent or potentially fatal. The fact that these single-use gloves are labelled as a class I medical device means they pose essentially zero risk to wearers or patients, as the latex gloves have no impact on the body when worn for short periods of time. These latex disposable gloves are only designated for non-sterile use. The production quality can be determined by the AQL value, i.e. the acceptable quality level. For disposable medical gloves, the AQL is 1.5 or less, which is exactly what these latex protective gloves meet. Our suggestions for how latex protective gloves should be used
These latex protective gloves are suitable for handling food. They are especially intended for dry food and watery food. The latex gloves provide protection from microorganisms, meaning that they are resistant to viruses, bacteria and fungi. Chemical protection type B signifies that the latex disposable gloves provide protection from permeation in accordance with the important EN 374 standard. It states the minimum penetration time for a certain number of chemicals from a list of particular test chemicals. Type A = 6 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type B = 3 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type C = 1 test chemical/10 minutes. The gloves are also airtight and waterproof. We therefore recommend latex disposable gloves for these sectors: close-contact services, occupational safety, government authorities, hospitals, other medicine, industry, the food industry and education. - Latex is a natural product of rubber trees; it is extremely stretchable and strong.
- Latex provides superior tactile sensitivity.
- Latex disposable gloves and finger cots are impervious to a broad range of acids and alkalis.
The disadvantages of latex
- Unfortunately, fluctuations in price are always a possibility, as latex is a natural raw material dependent on harvest yields and market prices.
- Latex gloves are known as allergenic because they contain water-soluble proteins that could aggravate the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, particularly in the case of powdered disposable gloves or finger cots.
- Oils and solvents can immediately penetrate latex disposable gloves and finger cots, which is why latex is not approved for handling such substances.
