01230-XL Latex protective gloves, XL, white
We generally recommend white and blue latex disposable gloves for occupational safety, government authorities, education, hospitals, food industry service, industry, close-contact services and other medicine. For the food industry, we particularly recommend blue, food-grade latex disposable gloves, as complete latex disposable gloves or sections of latex disposable gloves are easy to find quickly.
The properties of latex disposable gloves
Latex is obtained from rubber trees, making it the only natural material used in manufacturing single-use gloves. Its excellent properties promise comfortable wear. For this reason, latex cannot yet be completely replaced, despite extensive research into substitute materials. Latex gloves are frequently found in clinics and health care facilities, doctors' or dentists' surgeries and care homes, as well as in food production and processing (to a lesser extent, as cross-contamination can occur; nitrile is preferable here). Latex is an inexpensive alternative to vinyl or nitrile.Latex protective gloves in material thickness: "medium thickness"
The material is slightly thicker - this single-use product is between 0.09 mm and 0.16 mm thick (medium thickness), making it more resistant to punctures than a thin or ultra-thin disposable glove or finger cot. This disposable glove/finger cot is significantly stronger and more durable than thinner products made of this material.Quality of the latex gloves
These latex disposable gloves from the Med-Comfort brand are "premium" quality. AMPri only offers products of either a very consistent basic standard of quality, a more upscale "classic" quality or top-notch "premium" quality. The powder-free, non-sterile, disposable glove is ambidextrous (can be used on the left or the right hand). It has no extra length, which means it does not provide splash protection. These single-use gloves are fully textured. Fully textured latex protective gloves have first-rate slip-proof properties and are ideal when working with slippery instruments or materials. "Extra grip" is a special attribute of these latex gloves. The latex disposable gloves are classified as category I personal protective equipment (EU PPE Regulation 2016/425). This classification indicates that they only protect against minor risks to health, such as mildly corrosive cleaning agents. Medical devices are categorised according to the potential risk they pose to the patient. Class I comprises items that pose little or no risk. And precisely those criteria are met by these latex disposable gloves. These latex protective gloves are only intended for non-sterile applications. Our recommendations for how latex gloves should be used
Latex protective gloves are particularly appropriate for food containing alcohol, greasy food, acidic food, dry food and watery food and, consequently, are approved for food handling in general. We therefore recommend latex gloves for the following sectors: occupational safety, government authorities, education, hospitals, food industry service, industry, close-contact services and other medicine. If you have any questions about the potential uses of these latex gloves or are unsure if they are the right solution for your requirements, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us via the contact form! The benefits of latex
- Latex is a purely natural product and is highly elastic.
- The tactile sensitivity is very good.
- Latex gloves and finger cots also keep the wearer safe from a wide range of acids and alkalis.
The downsides of latex
- As a raw material sourced from nature, latex depends on harvest yields and commodity prices. This can lead to price fluctuations.
- Water-soluble proteins contained in latex can cause allergies if the gloves are used regularly. In addition to the latex products themselves, the powder on the latex disposable gloves or finger cots (powdered version) is also a significant allergen.
- Oils and solvents can quickly permeate latex protective gloves and finger cots, so latex is not intended for handling these substances.
