Measurement and size tables for disposable gloves, shoes, anti-slip socks and clothing

Determining the right size for disposable gloves

Why is the right size so important for disposable gloves?

Disposable gloves that are too tight can be very uncomfortable on the hands, while disposable gloves that are too large worsen the sense of touch and thus also hinder work.

Correct determination of the size of the PPE disposable glove

PPE disposable gloves are specified in sizes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.

To determine the correct size of your disposable gloves, all you need is a flexible measuring tape and the illustration below. The correct size of your disposable gloves is important so that you can reliably carry out precise work with the disposable gloves over a longer period of time. First measure the circumference of your hand at the widest point with a tape measure. This is usually at about the level of the knuckles. The tape measure should rest on the skin, but not press against the hand or cut into the skin.

Now read off the circumference of your hand and use the diagram to determine the appropriate glove size.

Correctly determine the size of the disposable medical glove

Medical disposable gloves are specified in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL.

To determine the correct size of a disposable medical glove, the width of the palm from the beginning of the index finger to the lowest point of the little finger is used. Usually, the width of the disposable glove is measured rather than the palm.

If you are unsure or are wavering between two sizes, you can request samples in both sizes from us free of charge and without obligation. This way you can try out which size feels best on your hands and with which glove the tactile sensation is best before you decide on a box or carton in the corresponding size.

Is your disposable medical glove also a PPE glove?

Your disposable medical glove also belongs to the PPE glove category and therefore has a special regulation of dimensions.

We have developed an individual size chart exclusively for you.

To determine the chest circumference, measure slightly below the armpits horizontally around the chest.

Body height is determined from the highest point of the head to the side of the foot.

01034-XS Latex disposable gloves, XS, white, (latex paint)

We recommend the use of white latex gloves for other medicine, education, occupational safety, industry, hospitals, government authorities, close-contact services and the food industry.

The properties of latex disposable gloves

Latex is a substance that can be extracted naturally from rubber trees and used for making disposable gloves - in contrast to nitrile or vinyl, which are made from synthetic raw materials. Latex also has exceptional natural properties, so latex gloves fit the hand smoothly and are extremely comfortable to wear. Consequently, these single-use gloves (and finger cots) are used in areas where latex gloves are worn for numerous processes and daily tasks, such as in clinics and health care facilities, in doctor's or dentist's surgeries and in nursing homes, and also to some degree in food production and processing (to a limited extent, as cross-contamination can occur; nitrile is preferred here). Latex is a low-cost alternative to vinyl or nitrile.

Latex protective gloves in material thickness: "medium thickness"

The material is slightly thicker - this disposable product is between 0.09 mm and 0.16 mm thick (medium thickness), making it less likely to puncture than a thin or ultra-thin disposable glove or finger cot. This disposable glove/finger cot is considerably stronger and harder-wearing than thinner products composed of this material.

Quality of the latex disposable gloves

These latex gloves from the Med-Comfort brand are "premium" quality. AMPri only offers products of either a very high basic standard of quality, a more upscale "classic" quality or top-notch "premium" quality. The powder-free, non-sterile, single-use glove is ambidextrous (can be used on the left or the right hand). It is not extra-long, which means it does not offer splash protection. The latex disposable gloves gloves are fully textured, so they deliver a much better grip than other non-textured or partially textured disposable gloves. "Extra grip" is a special feature of these latex gloves. As category III personal protective equipment in line with the PPE Regulation ((EU) 2016/425), they keep the user safe from health hazards that are irreversible or can lead to death. Medical devices are classified in terms of the potential risk they pose to the patient. Class I includes items that pose little or no risk. And that is precisely the case for these latex protective gloves. The latex disposable gloves are non-sterile; consequently, they are not designated for use in sterile applications. The production quality can be determined by the AQL value, i.e. the acceptable quality level. For disposable medical gloves, the AQL is 1.5 or less, which is exactly what these latex gloves meet.

We recommend latex gloves for these applications

These latex gloves are approved for handling food. They are especially useful for food containing alcohol, greasy food, acidic food, dry food and watery food. The latex protective gloves provide protection from microorganisms and are therefore resistant to viruses, bacteria and fungi. Chemical protection type B indicates that the latex protective gloves provide protection from penetration according to the crucial EN 374 standard. It defines the minimum penetration time for a certain number of chemicals from a list of particular test chemicals. Type A = 6 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type B = 3 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type C = 1 test chemical/10 minutes. The gloves are also airtight and watertight. We therefore recommend latex protective gloves for the following sectors: other medicine, education, occupational safety, industry, hospitals, government authorities, close-contact services and the food industry. If you have any questions about the possible applications of these latex protective gloves or are not sure if they are the right choice for you, please feel free to reach out to us via the contact form!

Latex disposable gloves: The benefits of latex

  • The biggest advantage of natural latex as a material is its enormous elasticity and tear resistance.
  • The tactile sensitivity is very good.
  • Latex gloves and finger cots also keep the wearer safe from many acids and alkalis.

Latex disposable gloves: the downsides of latex

  • Unfortunately, volatile prices are always possible, as latex is a natural raw material that depends on harvest quantities and market prices.
  • Latex protective gloves are known as allergenic because they contain water-soluble proteins that could irritate the mucous membranes of the respiratory system, particularly in the case of powdered single-use gloves or finger cots.
  • Latex protective gloves and finger cots are not intended for handling oils or solvents, as these substances can immediately penetrate the material.
