01037-M Latex gloves, M, white
We recommend blue and white latex gloves for education, hospitals, other medicine, industry, close-contact services, government authorities, occupational safety and the food industry. For the food industry, we particularly recommend blue, food-grade latex gloves, as complete latex gloves or sections of latex gloves can be found quickly and without much effort.
The properties of latex disposable gloves
Latex is a material that can be extracted naturally from rubber trees and used for making single-use gloves - in contrast to nitrile or vinyl, which are made from synthetic raw materials. Latex also has outstanding natural characteristics, so latex gloves fit the hand smoothly and are extremely comfortable to wear. Consequently, these single-use gloves (and finger cots) are used in fields where latex gloves are worn for numerous processes and everyday tasks, such as in clinics and health care facilities, in doctor's or dentist's offices and in care homes, and also to some degree in food production and processing (to a limited extent, as cross-contamination can occur; nitrile is preferable here). Latex is a more affordable alternative to vinyl or nitrile.Latex disposable gloves in material thickness: "medium thickness"
The material is of medium thickness, measuring in at between 0.09 mm and 0.16 mm. This makes it more puncture-resistant than a thin or ultra-thin single-use glove or finger cot of the same material. This disposable glove/finger cot is significantly sturdier and longer-lasting than thinner products composed of the same material.Quality of the latex protective gloves
These latex protective gloves from the Med-Comfort brand are of "premium" quality. AMPri exclusively sells products of either a very solid basic standard of quality, a more deluxe "classic" quality or impressive "premium" quality. The powder-free, non-sterile, single-use glove is ambidextrous (can be worn on the left or the right hand). It has no extra length, which means it does not provide splash protection. These disposable gloves are fully textured. Fully textured latex gloves have excellent slip-proof properties and are perfect for working with slippery instruments or materials. This product features the special characteristic "extra grip". As category III personal protective equipment as defined by the PPE Regulation ((EU) 2016/425), they provide protection from health hazards that are irreversible or can lead to death. The fact that these single-use gloves are labelled as a class I medical device means they pose little or no risk to wearers or patients, as the latex disposable gloves have no effect on the body when worn briefly. These latex disposable gloves are only suitable for non-sterile use. The production quality can be determined by the AQL value, i.e. the acceptable quality level. For disposable medical gloves, the AQL is 1.5 or less, which is exactly what these latex protective gloves meet. Our recommendations for how latex gloves should be used
These latex disposable gloves are approved for handling food. They are particularly useful for acidic food, dry food and watery food. The latex gloves offer protection from microorganisms and are consequently impervious to viruses, bacteria and fungi. Chemical protection type B indicates that the latex gloves provide protection against penetration according to the important EN 374 standard. This states the minimum penetration time for a certain number of chemicals from a list of defined test chemicals. Type A = 6 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type B = 3 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type C = 1 test chemical/10 minutes. The gloves are also airtight and waterproof. We therefore recommend latex protective gloves for these sectors: education, hospitals, other medicine, industry, close-contact services, government authorities, occupational safety and the food industry. If you have any questions about the potential applications of these latex protective gloves or are unsure if they are right for your needs, please do not hesitate to reach out to us via the contact form! The advantages of latex in protecting the skin
- Latex is a natural product of rubber trees; it is highly supple and strong.
- The tactile sensitivity is very good.
- Latex protective gloves and finger cots are resistant to a broad range of acids and alkalis.
The downsides of latex
- As a natural raw material, latex relies on harvest yields and commodity prices. This can result in fluctuations in price.
- If used often, latex is more likely to trigger allergies because of the water-soluble proteins it contains. Latex gloves are not recommended for people who have allergies. The powder on powdered latex gloves is also potentially hazardous because it can irritate the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.
- Latex gloves can be permeated by oil and solvents and, therefore, they are not approved for handling such substances.
