The properties of latex disposable gloves
Latex is harvested from rubber trees, making it the only natural material used in producing single-use gloves. Its outstanding characteristics guarantee comfortable wear. Consequently, latex cannot yet be completely replaced, despite extensive research into substitute materials. Latex gloves are mainly found in clinics and health care facilities, doctors' or dentists' surgeries and care homes, as well as in food production and processing (to a limited extent, as cross-contamination can occur; nitrile is preferred here). Latex is an inexpensive alternative to vinyl or nitrile.Latex protective gloves in material thickness: "medium thickness"
The material is slightly thicker - this disposable product is between 0.09 mm and 0.16 mm thick (medium thickness), making it more resistant to punctures than a thin or ultra-thin disposable glove or finger cot. This disposable glove/finger cot is considerably sturdier and longer-lasting than thinner items composed of this material.Quality of the latex disposable gloves
These latex gloves from the Med-Comfort brand are "premium" quality. AMPri only sells products of either a very high basic standard of quality, a more upscale "classic" quality or impressive "premium" quality. The powder-free, non-sterile, single-use glove is ambidextrous (can be worn on either hand). It has no extra length, which means it does not provide splash protection. These single-use gloves are fully textured. Fully textured latex gloves have exceptional non-slip properties and are the right choice for working with slippery tools or materials. This product features the special attribute "extra grip". The Latex protective gloves are also ideal for protecting against hazards that can lead to extremely severe consequences, such as death or irreversible damage to health. Accordingly, they are classified as category III PPE as defined by the EU PPE Regulation. Medical devices are categorised in terms of the potential risk they pose to the patient. Class I includes products that pose little or no risk. And exactly those criteria are fulfilled by these latex disposable gloves. These latex protective gloves are only designated for non-sterile use. The production quality can be determined by the AQL value, i.e. the acceptable quality level. For disposable medical gloves, the AQL is 1.5 or less, which is exactly what these latex gloves meet.We recommend latex disposable gloves for these applications
These latex gloves are approved for handling food. They are especially useful for acidic food, dry food and watery food. The latex protective gloves offer protection from microorganisms and are therefore resistant to viruses, bacteria and fungi. Chemical protection type B indicates that the latex gloves offer protection from permeation according to the important EN 374 standard. It states the minimum penetration time for a certain number of chemicals from a list of defined test chemicals. Type A = 6 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type B = 3 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type C = 1 test chemical/10 minutes. The gloves are also airtight and watertight. We therefore recommend latex gloves for the following sectors: the food industry, government authorities, hospitals, close-contact services, industry, education, other medicine and occupational safety. If you have any questions about the possible uses of these latex gloves or are not sure if they are the right solution for your requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us via the contact form! The advantages of latex
- Latex is a natural product of rubber trees; it is very elastic and hard-wearing.
- The tactile sensitivity is excellent.
- Latex disposable gloves and finger cots are impervious to a broad range of acids and alkalis.
Latex protective gloves: the downsides of latex
- Crop volumes and commodity prices have an immediate impact on the market price of latex, which can be inconsistent and unpredictable as a result.
- Water-soluble proteins contained in latex can trigger allergies if the gloves are used often. Alongside the latex products themselves, the powder on the latex disposable gloves or finger cots (powdered version) is also a serious allergen.
- Latex disposable gloves are oil- and solvent-permeable and, as a result, they should not be used for handling these substances.
