14-028-XL Latex gloves, XL, black
Latex gloves in black have become indispensable in the catering industry. Black latex gloves fulfil multiple purposes at once. The black latex gloves not only protect the hands; they also ensure sanitary food handling by preventing contact with the skin.
The properties of latex disposable gloves
Latex is a substance that can be obtained naturally from rubber trees and used for manufacturing single-use gloves - in contrast to nitrile or vinyl, which are made from artificial raw materials. Latex also has exceptional natural properties, so latex gloves fit the hand smoothly and are extremely comfortable to wear. For this reason, these single-use gloves (and finger cots) are used in sectors where latex gloves are worn for many processes and day-to-day tasks, such as in clinics and health care facilities, in doctor's or dentist's surgeries and in nursing homes, and also to some degree in food production and processing (to a limited extent, as cross-contamination can occur; nitrile is preferred here). Latex is a low-cost alternative to vinyl or nitrile.Latex gloves in material thickness: "medium thickness"
The material is somewhat thicker - this single-use product is between 0.09 mm and 0.16 mm thick (medium thickness), making it more puncture-resistant than a thin or ultra-thin disposable glove or finger cot. This disposable glove/finger cot is significantly stronger and longer-lasting than thinner items composed of this material.Quality of the latex disposable gloves
These latex gloves from the Style by Med-Comfort brand are of "premium" quality. AMPri only sells products of either a very high basic standard of quality, a more upscale "classic" quality or top-notch "premium" quality. The powder-free, non-sterile, disposable glove is ambidextrous (can be worn on the left or the right hand). It does not have additional length, which means it does not offer splash protection. The latex gloves gloves are fully textured, so they provide a much more effective grip than other non-textured or partially textured disposable gloves. This product features the special attribute "extra grip". As category III personal protective equipment in line with the PPE Regulation ((EU) 2016/425), they keep the user safe from health risks that are irreversible or potentially fatal. The fact that these disposable gloves are categorised as a class I medical device means they pose essentially zero risk to wearers or patients, as the latex disposable gloves have no effect on the body when worn for short periods of time. These latex gloves are only suitable for non-sterile use. The AQL (acceptable quality limit) is the maximum allowed number of faulty (permeable) individual samples in a batch or lot (performance level/AQL). For single-use medical gloves, an AQL level for impermeability that does not exceed 1.5 is prescribed in the EN 455-1 standard - which the Latex protective gloves fulfil exactly. Our recommendations for how latex disposable gloves should be used
Latex gloves are particularly suitable for food containing alcohol, greasy food, acidic food, dry food and watery food and, consequently, are intended for food handling in general. The latex disposable gloves offer protection from microorganisms and are consequently impervious to viruses, bacteria and fungi. Chemical protection type B indicates that the latex gloves provide protection against permeation according to the important EN 374 standard. This lays out the minimum penetration time for a specific number of chemicals from a list of defined test chemicals. Type A = 6 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type B = 3 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type C = 1 test chemical/10 minutes. The gloves are also airtight and waterproof. Consequently, we recommend latex gloves for these sectors: occupational safety, government authorities, education, other medicine, industry, close-contact services, hospitals and the food industry. - Latex is a natural product of rubber trees; it is highly elastic and hard-wearing.
- Latex permits good tactile sensitivity.
- Latex protective gloves and finger cots are resistant to a wide range of acids and alkalis.
The downsides of latex in protecting the skin
- Unfortunately, fluctuations in price cannot be ruled out, as latex is a natural raw material that is tied to harvest yields and market prices.
- Latex protective gloves are known as allergenic because they contain water-soluble proteins that might irritate the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, especially in the case of powdered single-use gloves or finger cots.
- Latex protective gloves can be permeated by oil and solvents and, consequently, they should not be used for handling such substances.
