Determining the right size for disposable gloves

Why is the right size so important for disposable gloves?

Disposable gloves that are too tight can be very uncomfortable on the hands, while disposable gloves that are too large worsen the sense of touch and thus also hinder work.

Correct determination of the size of the PPE disposable glove

PPE disposable gloves are specified in sizes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.

To determine the correct size of your disposable gloves, all you need is a flexible measuring tape and the illustration below. The correct size of your disposable gloves is important so that you can reliably carry out precise work with the disposable gloves over a longer period of time. First measure the circumference of your hand at the widest point with a tape measure. This is usually at about the level of the knuckles. The tape measure should rest on the skin, but not press against the hand or cut into the skin.

Now read off the circumference of your hand and use the diagram to determine the appropriate glove size.

Correctly determine the size of the disposable medical glove

Medical disposable gloves are specified in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL.

To determine the correct size of a disposable medical glove, the width of the palm from the beginning of the index finger to the lowest point of the little finger is used. Usually, the width of the disposable glove is measured rather than the palm.

081205-7 Reusable gloves from SolidSafety in black/blue (size S)

If you work in assembly and fitting, it is particularly essential for you to protect your hands but still be able to complete delicate tasks by hand. The assembly gloves from SolidSafety in "Premium" quality combine pleasant wear with the best protection. Nylon was used as the material for these gloves. Nylon has the advantage of making gloves especially elastic, ensuring a first-rate fit with good tactile sensitivity. With their black/blue colouring, the gloves are subtle enough to use anywhere. The palm of the gloves is coated with polyurethane, which delivers a reliable grip on dry objects. The gloves are also hard-wearing and built to last. Thanks to the knitted cuff, your wrist also stays protected, and you can put the gloves on and remove them again rapidly. The 'Tough' assembly gloves were subjected to abrasion-resistance testing and achieved level 3, which means the product is very abrasion-resistant. For comparison: level 2 in this test has to survive up to 1999 revolutions of a rotating disc coated with emery paper. Gloves rated level 3 have to withstand up to 7999 revolutions. In tear-resistance testing as defined by DIN , the product earned a 2 (the scale ranges from 0 to 4). This product has received a rating of 1 in puncture-resistance tests in line with DIN , which indicates a lower puncture resistance. During the testing process, a nail is pressed onto the sample glove at varying levels of force. Gloves with a rating of 0 have to be able to resist a force of 0 to 20 Newtons; for a rating of 1, that number increases to 20 to 60 Newtons.

Tested for even better safety: Reusable work safety gloves in compliance with EN 388, EN 420 and ISO 21420.

The gloves are rated as category II , so they keep the wearer safe from moderate hazards. Consequently, the gloves comply with the European and international standards , and ISO 21420. The gloves are treated with the Sanitized® hygiene function, which means they are permanently antiseptic; the treatment also improves the service life of the gloves. With these features, they are suitable for these sectors: industry, close-contact services, education, government authorities and occupational safety.
