01038-XL Latex disposable gloves, XL, white
We recommend blue and white latex gloves for industry, the food industry, education, other medicine, close-contact services, hospitals, government authorities and occupational safety. For the food industry, we particularly recommend blue, food-grade latex gloves, as whole latex gloves or sections of latex gloves can be found quickly and easily.
The properties of latex disposable gloves
Latex is a material that can be obtained naturally from rubber trees and used for manufacturing single-use gloves - unlike nitrile or vinyl, which are made from synthetic raw materials. Latex also has excellent natural properties, so latex protective gloves fit the hand snugly and are very comfortable to wear. That is why these single-use gloves (and finger cots) are used in areas where latex protective gloves are worn for many processes and everyday tasks, such as in clinics and health care facilities, in doctor's or dentist's offices and in care homes, and also to some degree in food production and processing (to a limited extent, as cross-contamination can occur; nitrile is preferable here). Latex is a more affordable alternative to vinyl or nitrile.Latex gloves in material thickness: "medium thickness"
With a material thickness between 0.09 mm and 0.16 mm, a finger cot or disposable glove of medium thickness is more resistant to punctures than a thin or ultra-thin disposable glove or finger cot of similar material. This single-use glove/finger cot is significantly stronger and harder-wearing than thinner products made of this material.Quality of the latex gloves
These latex disposable gloves from the Eco-Plus brand are of "classic" quality. AMPri exclusively sells products of either a very consistent basic standard of quality, a more deluxe "classic" quality or impressive "premium" quality. The powder-free, non-sterile, single-use glove is ambidextrous (can be worn on either hand). It has no extra length, which means it does not offer splash protection. These disposable gloves are fingertip textured. Fingertip textured latex disposable gloves have first-rate slip-proof properties and are the right choice for working with slippery tools or materials. As category III personal protective equipment in accordance with the PPE Regulation ((EU) 2016/425), they keep the user safe from health risks that are irreversible or potentially fatal. Latex gloves are categorised as class I medical devices. This class includes medical items or products that have no impact on the body and generally pose very little risk. The latex gloves are non-sterile; consequently, they cannot be used in sterile applications. The AQL (acceptable quality limit) is the highest permitted number of faulty (permeable) individual samples in a batch or lot (performance level/AQL). For disposable medical gloves, an AQL level for impermeability not to exceed 1.5 is required by the EN 455-1 standard - which the Latex gloves adhere to precisely. Our recommendations for how latex gloves should be used
Latex protective gloves are especially suitable for dry food and watery food and, consequently, are intended for food handling in general. The latex disposable gloves provide protection from microorganisms and are consequently impervious to viruses, bacteria and fungi. Chemical protection type B indicates that the latex protective gloves provide protection against permeation in accordance with the crucial EN 374 standard. It defines the minimum penetration time for a specific number of chemicals from a list of defined test chemicals. Type A = 6 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type B = 3 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type C = 1 test chemical/10 minutes. The gloves are also airtight and waterproof. Consequently, we recommend latex disposable gloves for the following sectors: industry, the food industry, education, other medicine, close-contact services, hospitals, government authorities and occupational safety. If you have questions about the potential uses of these latex disposable gloves or are not sure if they are right for your needs, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us via the contact form! The advantages of latex as a hand protection material
- Latex is a natural product of rubber trees; it is extremely flexible and hard-wearing.
- The tactile sensitivity is ideal.
- Latex protective gloves and finger cots also protect the skin from numerous acids and alkalis.
Latex protective gloves: the downsides of latex
- Crop volumes and raw material prices have an immediate effect on the market price of latex, which can be inconsistent and unpredictable as a result.
- If used often, latex is more likely to trigger allergies because of the water-soluble proteins it contains. Latex gloves are not recommended for allergy sufferers. The powder on powdered latex gloves is also a risk because it can irritate the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.
- Latex disposable gloves are oil- and solvent-permeable and, as a result, they are not approved for handling these substances.
