EN 13034
EN 13034 defines Type 6 chemical protective clothing, the lowest protection level within the chemical suit type series.
Scope of protection: intended for situations where light spray mist or small splashes are expected and the wearer can remove the garment immediately on contamination. Expressly unsuitable for sustained liquid contact or pressurised jet exposure.
Testing: whole-suit spray test plus material tests for repellency and penetration with defined test chemicals, supplemented by tensile and seam strength.
Position in the type series:
- Types 1 to 2: gas-tight and non-gas-tight full protection suits
- Type 3: liquid-tight against pressurised jet
- Type 4: spray-tight
- Type 5: tight against airborne particles
- Type 6: limited splash protection
Always applied together with EN ISO 13688; combined with EN 14126 it yields Type 6-B.
