EN 1149
EN 1149 governs electrostatic dissipative protective clothing worn in explosive atmospheres.
Structure of the series:

Protection principle: static charge is to be dissipated in a controlled manner before it can build into an ignition-capable spark discharge. This presupposes that the garment fully covers the body and that the wearer is earthed, for example through dissipative footwear.
Distinction: EN 1149 applies to protective clothing, EN 16350 to protective gloves. Both address the same risk but are not interchangeable and are tested separately.
