You want to buy high-quality mouth protection?
The AMPri Online Shop offers you both medical masks - also called mouth-nose protection, surgical mask or surgical mask. Respiratory protection products: With us you can also buy FFP 1, FFP 2 and FFP 3 respirators, these can be found in the respiratory protection section.
A disposable mouthguard or surgical mask is worn as an external protection to contain the unhindered spread of viruses. The possible infections due to person-to-person transmission of the virus can be reduced by wearing a mouthguard/surgical mask. If we then follow the AHA rules of keeping our distance, paying attention to hygiene and using not just the everyday mask but the legally required medical face mask, we are all doing our part to reduce the risk of infection.
Medical face masks are medical devices and were developed for the protection of others. They primarily protect the other person from infectious droplets emitted by the mouthguard wearer. However, when fitted tightly, a medical face mask can also protect the wearer of the mask, even if this is not the primary task. In medical facilities, for example, these products are used to prevent droplets from the air breathed by medical staff from entering a patient's open wounds.
Our mouth protection products meet the requirements of the EN 14683 standard across the board and are at least type II (bacterial filter performance of ≥ 98 %) or type IIR ((bacterial filter performance of ≥ 98 % and additionally equipped with a splash resistance pressure (kPa) ≥16.0). With us you will find a large selection. From simple mouthguards in the classic operating theatre colours "white, green, blue", you can also obtain other mouthguard variants from us in many colours, matching a colour or hygiene system in companies, medical facilities, etc. The mouthguards all comply with the medical device class I according to regulation (EU) 2017/745.
Type designation for a mouthguard - what does Type I, Type II or Type IIR mean?
The requirements for a mouthguard - also called an oral-nasal protector - are derived from EN 14683 ("Surgical masks - Requirements and test methods"). Only the filter material is tested, not the seal fit. The mouthguard is not a respirator: the primary purpose of the mouthguard is to prevent the spread of droplets from the wearer's nasopharynx. At the same time, it is intended to protect the wearer from splashes of the patient's body fluids.
For children we offer special sizes of 3-layer medical mouthguards according to EN 14683 type II in the colours white and pink. The children's medical mask is a class I medical device according to Regulation (EU) 2017/745.
Where is a disposable mouthguard also used?
The mouth protection (also called mouth-nose protection) is used to prevent the transmission of pathogens. Some of these come out when you breathe out and cannot spread unhindered by the mouthguard. In industrial use, the mouthguard prevents pathogens or contaminants from entering the products via the user, e.g. during food production and processing. You will also find a 1-layer face mask / disposable mask / hygiene mask for simple care and hygiene areas in our range.
Testing | Typ I | Typ II | Typ IIR |
