Our sterile disposable gloves/OP gloves made of latex material are personal protective equipment (PPE) category III and medical device class IIa sterile according to directive 93/42/EEC. Sterile gloves must be worn during sterile procedures such as operations, punctures, wound care and other invasive treatments. This is absolutely necessary to prevent infection with complications (such as sepsis).
Our sterile Med-Comfort gloves/surgical gloves are packed in pairs ETO-sterile. Ethylene oxide sterilisation (ETO) is a chemical process with four main variables: Gas concentration, humidity, temperature and time. Ethylene oxide is an alkylating agent that inactivates the DNA of microorganisms so that they can no longer reproduce. The ethylene oxide penetrates air-permeable packaging and sterilises all accessible surfaces of the product by alkylating the proteins responsible for cell reproduction. Sterile gloves must be worn during all invasive activities to prevent the introduction of germs into the body and to protect the patient from infections (e.g. care of open wounds).
