TPE
TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) is a class of synthetic polymers combining elastomeric properties with thermoplastic processability. In medical single-use gloves, TPE materials are used that are specifically formulated for the healthcare sector.
Properties of TPE gloves:
- Latex-free: no natural rubber, no Type I allergen potential
- Typically plasticiser-free (no DEHP/phthalates): relevant for food contact and sensitive applications

- Lower tensile strength and elasticity than nitrile or latex
