Tensile strength (force at break) is the tensile force in Newtons required to stretch glove material to failure. It is a measure of mechanical load capacity. EN 455-2 sets minimum values for medical single-use gloves: 6 N for latex and nitrile, 3.6 N for vinyl.
TPE
TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) is a synthetic polymer used as a latex-free and typically plasticiser-free material for single-use gloves. TPE gloves comply with EN 455 and are suitable for individuals with latex or plasticiser sensitivity. They offer lower mechanical performance than nitrile.
TRBA
TRBA (Technische Regeln fuer Biologische Arbeitsstoffe / Technical Rules for Biological Agents) are guidelines issued by the Committee for Biological Agents (ABAS) in Germany. They implement the German Biological Agents Ordinance (BioStoffV) and provide recommendations on protective measures including glove selection.
TRGS
TRGS (Technische Regeln fuer Gefahrstoffe / Technical Rules for Hazardous Substances) are guidelines from the Committee for Hazardous Substances (AGS) in Germany, implementing the Hazardous Substances Ordinance (GefStoffV). Relevant for chemical protective gloves: TRGS 401 (hazards from skin contact) and TRGS 530 (hairdressing). TRGS have presumptive effect for GefStoffV.
