Measurement and size tables for disposable gloves, shoes, anti-slip socks and clothing

Determining the right size for disposable gloves

Why is the right size so important for disposable gloves?

Disposable gloves that are too tight can be very uncomfortable on the hands, while disposable gloves that are too large worsen the sense of touch and thus also hinder work.

Correct determination of the size of the PPE disposable glove

PPE disposable gloves are specified in sizes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.

To determine the correct size of your disposable gloves, all you need is a flexible measuring tape and the illustration below. The correct size of your disposable gloves is important so that you can reliably carry out precise work with the disposable gloves over a longer period of time. First measure the circumference of your hand at the widest point with a tape measure. This is usually at about the level of the knuckles. The tape measure should rest on the skin, but not press against the hand or cut into the skin.

Now read off the circumference of your hand and use the diagram to determine the appropriate glove size.

Correctly determine the size of the disposable medical glove

Medical disposable gloves are specified in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL.

To determine the correct size of a disposable medical glove, the width of the palm from the beginning of the index finger to the lowest point of the little finger is used. Usually, the width of the disposable glove is measured rather than the palm.

If you are unsure or are wavering between two sizes, you can request samples in both sizes from us free of charge and without obligation. This way you can try out which size feels best on your hands and with which glove the tactile sensation is best before you decide on a box or carton in the corresponding size.

Is your disposable medical glove also a PPE glove?

Your disposable medical glove also belongs to the PPE glove category and therefore has a special regulation of dimensions.

We have developed an individual size chart exclusively for you.

215-008-S Nitrile exam gloves, S, blue, (dark blue)

We recommend blue and white nitrile disposable gloves for occupational safety, education, other medicine, industry, close-contact services, hospitals, the food industry and government authorities. For the food industry, we particularly recommend blue, food-grade nitrile disposable gloves, as complete nitrile disposable gloves or sections of nitrile disposable gloves can be found quickly and without much effort.

The properties of nitrile disposable gloves

Nitrile gloves fit like a second skin and offer a great deal of flexibility during use. Nitrile is a synthetic rubber material (elastic polymers). Nitrile is extremely flexible and hard-wearing. Disposable gloves made of nitrile are impermeable, so they do not develop holes or become permeable when overstretched. Single-use nitrile gloves offer strong resistance to oils, greases and solvents and dependably protect against viruses and germs, meaning they can be used as part of personal protective equipment in a wide range of fields and industries, such as clinics and healthcare facilities, nursing homes for the elderly and infirm, and doctors' or dentists' surgeries, as well as in food production and processing, minor cleaning jobs, the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, and in hairdressing, cosmetics and tattoo studios.

Nitrile gloves in material thickness: "thin"

The thin material is between 0.05 and a maximum of 0.09 mm in thickness and ensures excellent tactile sensitivity. The breakthrough time of this single-use product is higher than it would be in an ultra-thin disposable glove or finger cot made of identical material, and the product is also more reliable and durable.

Quality of the nitrile disposable gloves

These nitrile exam gloves from the Puracomfort brand are of "basic" quality. AMPri only sells products of either a very solid basic standard of quality, a more upscale "classic" quality or impressive "premium" quality. The powder-free, non-sterile, disposable glove is ambidextrous (can be used on the left or the right hand). It has no extra length, which means it does not provide splash protection. These single-use gloves are fingertip textured. Fingertip textured nitrile gloves have first-rate slip-proof properties and are the right choice for working with slippery tools or materials. As category III personal protective equipment in accordance with the PPE Regulation ((EU) 2016/425), they provide protection from health risks that are permanent or potentially fatal. The fact that these single-use gloves are categorised as a class I medical device means they pose essentially zero risk to wearers or patients, as the nitrile gloves have no impact on the body when worn for short periods of time. The nitrile disposable gloves are non-sterile; consequently, they are not approved for sterile applications. The production quality can be determined by the AQL value, i.e. the acceptable quality level. For disposable medical gloves, the AQL is 1.5 or less, which is exactly what these nitrile exam gloves meet.

Our recommendations for how nitrile gloves should be used

Nitrile disposable gloves are especially suitable for food containing alcohol, greasy food, acidic food, dry food and watery food and, consequently, are intended for food handling in general. The nitrile examination gloves offer protection from microorganisms and are therefore resistant to viruses, bacteria and fungi. The nitrile examination gloves provide chemical protection (chemical protection type B) against penetration in accordance with the EN 374 standard. EN 374 sets the minimum penetration time for a certain length of time and for a certain number of chemicals from a list of defined test chemicals. Type A = 6 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type B = 3 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type C = 1 test chemical/10 minutes. Additionally, the nitrile examination gloves are airtight and watertight. We therefore recommend nitrile gloves for these sectors: occupational safety, education, other medicine, industry, close-contact services, hospitals, the food industry and government authorities. If you have questions about the potential uses of these nitrile gloves or are not sure if they are the right solution for your requirements, please feel free to reach out to us via the contact form!
  • Nitrile is very supple; it can be stretched to over 500% of its base dimensions. One particularly unique feature: nitrile boasts a sort of "material memory", so it adapts to the shape of the hand.
  • It provides an ideal grip and is less prone to puncturing than other materials, making it safer.
  • Nitrile's resistance to chemicals permits a broad range of applications. It is also the perfect alternative to latex for allergy sufferers because nitrile is protein-free.
