7. Application – how is a male urinal bottle applied correctly?
The correct application determines hygiene, comfort and patient safety. The procedure is divided into four steps: preparation, application, emptying and reprocessing. During preparation the urinal bottle is checked for cleanliness and integrity, the lid is opened and – if applied by the nursing staff – single-use gloves according to DIN EN ISO 21420 [5] are worn.
