Measurement and size tables for disposable gloves, shoes, anti-slip socks and clothing

Determining the right size for disposable gloves

Why is the right size so important for disposable gloves?

Disposable gloves that are too tight can be very uncomfortable on the hands, while disposable gloves that are too large worsen the sense of touch and thus also hinder work.

Correct determination of the size of the PPE disposable glove

PPE disposable gloves are specified in sizes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.

To determine the correct size of your disposable gloves, all you need is a flexible measuring tape and the illustration below. The correct size of your disposable gloves is important so that you can reliably carry out precise work with the disposable gloves over a longer period of time. First measure the circumference of your hand at the widest point with a tape measure. This is usually at about the level of the knuckles. The tape measure should rest on the skin, but not press against the hand or cut into the skin.

Now read off the circumference of your hand and use the diagram to determine the appropriate glove size.

Correctly determine the size of the disposable medical glove

Medical disposable gloves are specified in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL.

To determine the correct size of a disposable medical glove, the width of the palm from the beginning of the index finger to the lowest point of the little finger is used. Usually, the width of the disposable glove is measured rather than the palm.

If you are unsure or are wavering between two sizes, you can request samples in both sizes from us free of charge and without obligation. This way you can try out which size feels best on your hands and with which glove the tactile sensation is best before you decide on a box or carton in the corresponding size.

Is your disposable medical glove also a PPE glove?

Your disposable medical glove also belongs to the PPE glove category and therefore has a special regulation of dimensions.

We have developed an individual size chart exclusively for you.

To determine the chest circumference, measure slightly below the armpits horizontally around the chest.

The properties of nitrile disposable gloves

Nitrile examination gloves are dependably resistant to oils and fats, and they also offer powerful protection against solvents, chemicals, germs and viruses. The material's unique structure makes it very supple. It fits the wearer's fingers and palm comfortably. Since synthetic rubber is completely free of allergenic proteins, it is an ideal alternative to natural latex for people with sensitive skin. This is why nitrile gloves are often used in clinics and health care facilities, care facilities for the elderly and infirm, and in doctors' or dentists' surgeries. And the positive properties of nitrile also come into play in food production and processing, minor cleaning jobs, the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, and in hairdressing, cosmetics and tattoo studios.

Nitrile examination gloves in material thickness: "thin"

Thanks to the thin material (0.05 mm to a maximum of 0.09 mm thick), this product offers excellent tactile sensitivity, and the breakthrough time is longer than in an ultra-thin single-use glove or finger cot of the same material. This skin-protection product is also stronger and harder-wearing than thinner disposables.

Quality of the nitrile gloves

These nitrile exam gloves from the Puracomfort brand are of "basic" quality. AMPri only sells products of either a very solid basic standard of quality, a more deluxe "classic" quality or superior "premium" quality. The powder-free, non-sterile, disposable glove is ambidextrous (can be used on either hand). It is not extra-long, which means it does not provide splash protection. The nitrile gloves gloves are fingertip textured, so they provide a much more effective grip than non-textured single-use gloves. As category III personal protective equipment as defined by the PPE Regulation ((EU) 2016/425), they keep the user safe from health hazards that are irreversible or can lead to death. Nitrile examination gloves are categorised as class I medical devices. This class comprises medical items or products that have no effect on the body and ordinarily pose very little risk. These nitrile exam gloves are only suitable for non-sterile applications. The production quality can be determined by the AQL value, i.e. the acceptable quality level. For disposable medical gloves, the AQL is 1.5 or less, which is exactly what these nitrile disposable gloves meet.

Our suggestions for how nitrile gloves should be used

These nitrile disposable gloves are approved for handling food. They are particularly intended for food containing alcohol, greasy food, acidic food, dry food and watery food. The nitrile examination gloves offer protection from microorganisms and are therefore impervious to viruses, bacteria and fungi. Chemical protection type B signifies that the nitrile gloves provide protection from penetration according to the crucial EN 374 standard. It states the minimum penetration time for a specific number of chemicals from a list of particular test chemicals. Type A = 6 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type B = 3 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type C = 1 test chemical/10 minutes. The gloves are also airtight and waterproof. We therefore recommend nitrile examination gloves for the following sectors: occupational safety, education, other medicine, industry, hospitals, the food industry, close-contact services and government authorities. If you have questions about the potential uses of these nitrile examination gloves or are unsure if they are right for your needs, please feel free to contact us via the contact form!
  • In terms of stretch and tear resistance, nitrile is completely equal to natural latex. However, nitrile gains an edge with its "material memory" - it can seamlessly adapt to the shape of every individual hand.
  • Nitrile disposable gloves are stronger than disposable gloves made of other materials and, consequently, they are safer. In addition, they offer an ideal grip.
  • Nitrile's chemical resistance enables a wide spectrum of uses. It is also the ideal alternative to latex for allergy sufferers because nitrile is protein-free.
