Measurement and size tables for disposable gloves, shoes, anti-slip socks and clothing

Determining the right size for disposable gloves

Why is the right size so important for disposable gloves?

Disposable gloves that are too tight can be very uncomfortable on the hands, while disposable gloves that are too large worsen the sense of touch and thus also hinder work.

Correct determination of the size of the PPE disposable glove

PPE disposable gloves are specified in sizes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.

To determine the correct size of your disposable gloves, all you need is a flexible measuring tape and the illustration below. The correct size of your disposable gloves is important so that you can reliably carry out precise work with the disposable gloves over a longer period of time. First measure the circumference of your hand at the widest point with a tape measure. This is usually at about the level of the knuckles. The tape measure should rest on the skin, but not press against the hand or cut into the skin.

Now read off the circumference of your hand and use the diagram to determine the appropriate glove size.

Correctly determine the size of the disposable medical glove

Medical disposable gloves are specified in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL.

To determine the correct size of a disposable medical glove, the width of the palm from the beginning of the index finger to the lowest point of the little finger is used. Usually, the width of the disposable glove is measured rather than the palm.

If you are unsure or are wavering between two sizes, you can request samples in both sizes from us free of charge and without obligation. This way you can try out which size feels best on your hands and with which glove the tactile sensation is best before you decide on a box or carton in the corresponding size.

Is your disposable medical glove also a PPE glove?

Your disposable medical glove also belongs to the PPE glove category and therefore has a special regulation of dimensions.

We have developed an individual size chart exclusively for you.

To determine the chest circumference, measure slightly below the armpits horizontally around the chest.

Body height is determined from the highest point of the head to the side of the foot.

01037-XS latex single-use gloves, white (latex paint), in size XS

The white latex single-use gloves in size XS are highly versatile tools when you need your working environment to be hygienic, reliable and fast. The latex single-use gloves are available in a timeless white colour. We generally recommend white (and blue) latex protective gloves for applications in the government authorities, education, dentistry, industry, body-related services, hospitals, food service, and other medicine.

The properties of latex gloves

Latex gloves and finger cots are – in contrast to vinyl or nitrile – products made of natural materials. This is because the latex used in single-use gloves is extracted straight from rubber trees. Thanks to its outstanding physical properties and comfortable fit, there is presently no real substitute for natural latex. Consequently, the main fields of use for disposable latex gloves include clinics and health care facilities, doctors' or dentists' surgeries and nursing homes, as well as food production and processing facilities (to a lesser extent, as cross-contamination can occur; nitrile is preferred here). Latex is a cost-effective alternative to vinyl or nitrile.

Quality of the latex gloves

At AMPri, you can be sure that all our items are of dependably high quality. Whether you select our very good Basic quality, better Classic quality or first-rate Premium quality: You can rest assured that all our products will live up to your expectations. These latex single-use gloves are of premium quality. The unpowdered, non-sterile latex gloves are equally appropriate for left-handed and right-handed users, as they are designed for ambidextrous wear. These gloves are fully textured. Fully textured latex protective gloves have first-rate slip-proof properties and are ideal when working with slippery tools or materials. The latex gloves features the special attribute "extra grippy". The latex gloves are categorised as Md class i (medical product class).

Our recommendation for you: Our latex single-use gloves are ideal for a wide range of applications

The latex protective gloves are non-sterile; consequently, they cannot be used in sterile applications. Chemical predection type b indicates that the latex disposable gloves provide protection against permeation in accordance with the crucial EN 374 standard. It defines the minimum penetration time for a specific number of chemicals from a list of specified test chemicals. Type A = 6 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type B = 3 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type C = 1 test chemical/10 minutes. The gloves are also airtight and watertight. Protection from microorganisms is a primary feature of these disposable gloves. The latex gloves protect the wearer against viruses, bacteria and fungi. These latex protective gloves are basically suitable for handling food. They are especially suitable for acidic, dry, and watery foods. We therefore recommend latex disposable gloves for the following sectors: authority, education, dental, industry, body-related services, hospital, food industry, and other medicine. If you have any questions about the possible applications of these latex disposable gloves or are not sure if they are the right choice for you, please feel free to contact us via the contact form!

The advantages of latex

  • Latex is a completely natural product and incredibly stretchable.
  • Latex provides a pleasant wearing sensation that hardly leads to any restrictions in tactile sensitivity.
  • It also protects against a wide range of acids and alkalis.

The downsides of latex

  • Unfortunately, fluctuations in price are always a possibility, as the natural raw material is reliant on harvest yields and market prices.
  • Latex gloves are known for triggering allergies because they contain water-soluble proteins that could irritate respiratory mucous membranes, especially in the case of the powdered single-use gloves or finger cots.
  • Latex gloves are oil- and solvent-permeable and, therefore, not suitable for handling such substances.
