Measurement and size tables for disposable gloves, shoes, anti-slip socks and clothing

Determining the right size for disposable gloves

Why is the right size so important for disposable gloves?

Disposable gloves that are too tight can be very uncomfortable on the hands, while disposable gloves that are too large worsen the sense of touch and thus also hinder work.

Correct determination of the size of the PPE disposable glove

PPE disposable gloves are specified in sizes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.

To determine the correct size of your disposable gloves, all you need is a flexible measuring tape and the illustration below. The correct size of your disposable gloves is important so that you can reliably carry out precise work with the disposable gloves over a longer period of time. First measure the circumference of your hand at the widest point with a tape measure. This is usually at about the level of the knuckles. The tape measure should rest on the skin, but not press against the hand or cut into the skin.

Now read off the circumference of your hand and use the diagram to determine the appropriate glove size.

Correctly determine the size of the disposable medical glove

Medical disposable gloves are specified in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL.

To determine the correct size of a disposable medical glove, the width of the palm from the beginning of the index finger to the lowest point of the little finger is used. Usually, the width of the disposable glove is measured rather than the palm.

If you are unsure or are wavering between two sizes, you can request samples in both sizes from us free of charge and without obligation. This way you can try out which size feels best on your hands and with which glove the tactile sensation is best before you decide on a box or carton in the corresponding size.

Is your disposable medical glove also a PPE glove?

Your disposable medical glove also belongs to the PPE glove category and therefore has a special regulation of dimensions.

We have developed an individual size chart exclusively for you.

To determine the chest circumference, measure slightly below the armpits horizontally around the chest.

01144-60 sterile surgical gloves, white (latex paint), in size 6

You can count on these sterile surgeon's gloves in white. The sterile surgeon's gloves (size 6) offer excellent protection against contaminants and risks, are germ-free and allow you to work safely and easily. We suggest using the sterile surgeon's gloves in white for hospitals, body-related services, and other medicine.

The properties of sterile surgeon's gloves

Sterile surgery gloves and finger cots are – unlike disposable gloves made of vinyl or nitrile – products made of natural materials. This is because the latex used in disposable gloves is harvested straight from rubber trees. Thanks to its outstanding physical properties and its comfort for the wearer, there is presently no suitable replacement for natural latex. Therefore, the primary fields of use for disposable latex gloves include clinics and health care facilities, doctors' or dentists' surgeries and nursing homes, as well as food production and processing facilities (to a lesser extent, as cross-contamination can occur; nitrile is preferred here). Latex is an inexpensive alternative to vinyl or nitrile.

Quality of the sterile surgical gloves

The Med-Comfort brand sterile surgeon's gloves are of "Premium" quality. AMPri only distributes products with a very high level of Basic quality, a better Classic quality and an exceptional Premium quality. The sterile surgical gloves gloves are fully textured, so they offer a significantly more effective grip than other non-textured or partially textured gloves. The sterile surgeon's gloves features the special attribute "extra grippy". The sterile surgeon's gloves are rated as Md class ii a (medical product class).

We recommend sterile surgeon's gloves for these applications

Naturally, sterile surgical gloves can be included in completely sterile equipment, as they are sterile themselves. Chemical predection type c indicates that the sterile surgical gloves offer protection from penetration according to the important EN 374 standard. This defines the minimum penetration time for a certain number of chemicals from a list of defined test chemicals. Type A = 6 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type B = 3 test chemicals/30 minutes, Type C = 1 test chemical/10 minutes. The gloves are also airtight and watertight. The sterile surgeon's gloves offer protection from microorganisms, meaning that they are resistant to viruses, bacteria and fungi. However, it is important to note that these sterile surgical gloves are not suitable for contact with food. Consequently, we recommend sterile surgeon's gloves for the following sectors: hospital, body-related services, and other medicine. If you have any questions about the possible applications of these sterile surgeon's gloves or are not sure if they are right for your needs, please feel free to reach out to us via the contact form!

The benefits of latex

  • The biggest advantage of the natural material latex is its impressive elasticity and tear resistance.
  • Latex provides a pleasant wearing sensation that has almost no noticeable impact on tactile sensitivity.
  • It also protects against a wide range of acids and alkalis.

Sterile surgeon's gloves: the disadvantages of latex

  • Unfortunately, fluctuations in price cannot be ruled out, as the natural raw material is dependent on harvest yields and market prices.
  • Water-soluble proteins contained in the latex can trigger allergies if worn often. In addition to the latex protective products themselves, the powder of the sterile surgery gloves (in the case of powdered versions) is also a major cause of allergies.
  • Sterile surgery gloves are not suitable for handling oils or solvents, as these substances can quickly permeate the material.
