Latex is the coagulable sap of the rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) and the raw material for natural latex gloves. Latex gloves offer high elasticity, excellent tactile sensitivity, and broad resistance to micro-organisms and acids. Latex proteins can trigger Type IV allergies (through vulcanisation accelerators) and, more rarely, Type I immediate hypersensitivity reactions.

The "keep away from sunlight" symbol under EN ISO 15223-1 marks products that must be protected from light and UV exposure. It is shown as a stylised sun. In elastomer gloves, UV radiation together with ozone accelerates oxidative breakdown of the polymer chains.
LOT
LOT denotes the batch number of a medical device. The symbol is standardised in ISO 15223-1 and mandatory on product labelling. All units sharing the same LOT number were manufactured under identical or comparable conditions and form a single production batch – the basis for any product recall.
