Conformity assessment procedure
In a conformity assessment procedure, the manufacturer proves that his product complies with the essential safety requirements of the applicable EU regulation or EC directive. At the end of this procedure, the manufacturer issues the EU declaration of conformity and affixes the corresponding CE mark to the product. This procedure must be carried out before the product is placed on the EU internal market for the first time.
