EN 455 defines the requirements for medical disposable gloves. It covers freedom from holes, tear resistance and biological safety and ensures that the glove protects reliably during examination and treatment.
Nitrile gloves are made of synthetic material and are suitable for users with a latex allergy; they are durable and tear-resistant. Latex gloves offer a very direct tactile sense and a snug fit. Both meet EN 455.
Powder-free gloves avoid powder residues on instruments and surfaces and reduce skin irritation. In the modern dental practice they have become established as the standard.
In the case of a sensitisation to latex proteins, nitrile gloves are the suitable choice. They contain no latex and yet offer a good tactile sense as well as high tear resistance.
AMPri offers examination gloves in graduated sizes from XS to XL. The glove should fit snugly but without tension, so that fine motor skills are preserved.
Type II achieves a bacterial filtration efficiency of at least 98 percent. Type IIR adds protection against fluid splashes to this value and is suitable for treatments involving aerosol formation.
Medical disposable gloves are intended for single use and are disposed of after use. Reprocessing is not provided for, as it would impair the protective effect.
Yes. Medical gloves and masks are medical devices under MDR (EU) 2017/745 and bear a CE marking. Gloves with chemical protection additionally meet EN ISO 374-1 of category III.
No. The colour comes from tested pigments in the material and affects neither freedom from holes nor tactile sensitivity. Coloured gloves meet EN 455 just like uncoloured versions.
Saliva ejectors keep the treatment field dry and clearly arranged. They are among the consumables with high throughput and support the assistant as well as patient comfort.
