The properties of PE disposable gloves
As a semi-crystalline and non-polar thermoplastic, polyethylene (PE) is mainly used in work areas that do not contain hazardous substances. These include kitchens and sales floors, food retail (at bakeries or deli counters), at cosmetics counters and in care homes. PE disposable gloves are also used as washing gloves by hairdressers and in veterinary offices. The material, which is actually colourless to milky-white, can be dyed to any colour of the rainbow during manufacturing. There are two types of PE: low-density PE (LDPE), which is soft, particularly flexible and resistant at a temperature range of -50 degrees Celsius to +60 degrees Celsius, and high-density PE (HDPE), which is stiffer but also more durable and which remains resistant at temperatures ranging from -50 degrees Celsius to +90 degrees Celsius.PE disposable gloves in material thickness: "ultra thin"
With a material thickness of no more than 0.05 mm, the disposable gloves offer very good tactile sensitivity and are gentle on the skin.Quality of the PE gloves
These pE disposable gloves from the Med-Comfort brand are of "premium" quality. AMPri only offers products of either a very high basic standard of quality, a more upscale "classic" quality or top-notch "premium" quality. The powder-free, non-sterile, single-use glove is ambidextrous (can be used on the left or the right hand). It does not have additional length, which means it does not offer splash protection. This product features the special characteristic "hammered". The pE disposable gloves are rated as category I personal protective equipment (EU PPE Regulation 2016/425). This designation means that they only protect against minor health risks, such as mildly corrosive cleaning products. These pE disposable gloves are only designated for non-sterile use.Our suggestions for how pE gloves should be used
These pE disposable gloves are appropriate for handling food. They are particularly useful for food containing alcohol, greasy food, acidic food, dry food and watery food. We therefore recommend pE disposable gloves for these sectors: the food industry and close-contact services. If you have questions about the potential applications of these pE disposable gloves or are not sure if they are right for your needs, please feel free to get in touch with us via the contact form! The benefits of PE in protecting the skin
- A true all-rounder: PE is safe for the human body, soft on the skin, largely unscented and flavourless.
- Compared to other materials, PE delivers an excellent cost-benefit ratio.
- It is also oil- and fat-resistant.
