MEDICA 2025
MEDICA 2025 – Trends, Challenges & Opportunities for the Industry
The MEDICA 2025 in Düsseldorf once again showcased this year the direction in which medical care, specialist trade and the global manufacturing world are evolving. Digitisation, supply‑chain transparency and sustainable procurement were the dominant topics – and they will shape the industry in the coming years more than ever before.
Although AMPri 2025 did not have its own exhibition stand, we were of course on‑site in Düsseldorf – and we were able to hold many intensive discussions with partners, resellers and customers in our premises directly at the trade fair. Personal exchange, deeper insights into market trends and direct dialogue about regulatory changes have shown: 2025 will be a key year for medical single‑use products.
One subject stood out in particular: the EUDR.
EUDR: The new reality for latex products – and why AMPri is prepared
The European Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is one of the most widely discussed topics at MEDICA 2025 – and for good reason. It affects almost all products made from natural rubber, including:
- disposable latex gloves
- household gloves
- other latex‑based single‑use products
Some competitors are already being forced to remove latex gloves from their range because they cannot meet the increasing documentation and compliance requirements of the EUDR.
What exactly does the EUDR require?
The EUDR requires – in short – full transparency across the entire supply chain. Companies must prove that natural‑rubber products are not sourced from deforested areas. This includes, among other things:
- geolocation data for all plantations
- harvest data
- complete supply‑chain paths up to the first placing on the market (plantation → factory → importer)
- risk assessments & risk‑mitigation measures
- storage of all data for at least five years
The effort is considerable – especially in the glove market, where supply chains are traditionally complex.
A look into our QC (Quality Control)
Our internal quality management puts it succinctly:
“The EUDR is knocking at the door and it is still unclear exactly what requirements it will bring. What does seem certain, however, is that the first‑placers on the market will bear the full burden of the requirements. The EU is trying to clarify more by the launch date of 30.12.2025. One thing is sure: the supply chains for products from natural rubber – including disposable and household gloves – will change.
The EUDR obliges companies to prove that products from natural rubber do not come from deforested areas and that ecological and social standards are adhered to throughout the supply chain. This especially affects imports from Asia – and thus also almost all latex gloves.
For each product, geolocation data, risk analyses, supply‑chain evidence and due‑diligence documents must be available in future.”
From the viewpoint of the first‑placers on the market, there are additional challenges:
- Personnel strain: monitoring and documenting the entire supply chain, communicating with plantations, factories and intermediaries, maintaining statutory proof.
- Know‑how requirements: expertise on the EUDR, risk assessments, mapping, compliance as well as knowledge of international production and agricultural structures.
- Costs: risk checks, certificates, external audits, IT and documentation systems as well as higher manufacturer prices due to EUDR compliance adjustments.
Many companies cannot meet these personnel, technical and economic requirements – market consolidations are to be expected.
AMPri remains a reliable supplier of latex gloves
While the market consolidates and some competitors are listing out latex products, AMPri is consciously taking a different path:
- We assume full EUDR responsibility as first‑placer on the market for our customers.
- We continue to expand documentation, monitoring and compliance structures, instead of reducing ranges.
- We secure the supply chain through long‑standing, audited production partners and our own quality controls.
- We ensure legal and economic security in procurement – for resellers as well as professional end customers.
What does this mean for you as a customer when you purchase from us?
When you meet your needs through us, you are largely relieved of all EUDR obligations, as we assume full responsibility as first‑placer. That means: we bear the entire documentation and testing effort, provide all required evidence and ensure that you can continue to rely on a secure supply.
In this context “buying locally” means: you purchase directly from us and thus play it safe. It does not mean European production, but the clear relief for your company through procurement from a professional first‑placer. By sourcing your latex gloves through us, you transfer almost all of the EUDR obligations that would otherwise lie with you to AMPri.
So you benefit from:
- legal security,
- minimal administrative effort,
- reliable availability of goods,
- clear documentation and
- reduced internal costs.
Our message: We take responsibility. We build the necessary structures, processes and documentation to meet the high demands of the EUDR. Other providers may not take on this effort – we, however, guarantee your supply and legal certainty.
Latex remains – and for good reason
Latex gloves are still indispensable in many areas. They offer:
- excellent elasticity
- high tear resistance
- excellent tactile sensitivity
- a very good fit – ideal for medical, care and food‑service applications
AMPri continues to offer several high‑quality latex ranges – also in the future:
-
MED‑COMFORT Premium Grip Latex
To the product MED‑COMFORT Premium Grip - BASIC‑PLUS Latex
To the product BASIC‑PLUS -
Style by AMPri – Latex Black
To the product Style Latex Black
These products will remain part of our range beyond 2025 – and are available from AMPri in EUDR‑compliance.
Further highlights of MEDICA 2025: Trends that are changing the market
1. Digitisation & automated testing
From AI‑supported quality controls to smart supply‑chain dashboards to automated documentation processes: MEDICA 2025 made clear that digital transparency increasingly determines competitiveness.
2. Sustainability becomes measurable
Sustainability is no longer just an image topic, but a clearly measurable factor in procurement and tendering. Focus areas include:
- CO₂ tracking along the supply chain
- resource‑efficient materials and processes
- biodegradable products
- certified sustainability evaluations (e.g. EcoVadis)
AMPri is already well‑positioned here – among other things with sustainable product lines such as Nature Gloves, as well as comprehensive certifications and a responsible latex lifecycle.
3. Colours and customisation in the glove market
Coloured nitrile gloves have definitively moved from trend to standard. With Style by AMPri we offer one of the largest colour ranges on the market – ideal for gastronomy, beauty, tattoo studios or modern healthcare facilities.
Here you will find our Style by AMPri nitrile gloves with over 15 single colours and three mix‑boxes.
Our conclusion on MEDICA 2025
The industry is facing major changes – regulatory, logistical and technological. But challenges also bring opportunities.
For AMPri it is clear:
- We remain a reliable partner, even as requirements rise.
- We continue to invest in documentation, compliance and quality assurance.
- We support our dealers, resellers and professional end customers, so that they can purchase with legal certainty and peace of mind.
- Latex remains in our range – safe, compliant and reliably available.
2025 will be an important year – but one for which AMPri is prepared.
