Determining the right size for disposable gloves


Why is the right size so important for disposable gloves? 

Disposable gloves that are too tight can be very uncomfortable on the hands, while disposable gloves that are too large worsen the sense of touch and thus also hinder work.

Correct determination of the size of the PPE disposable glove

PPE disposable gloves are specified in sizes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. 

To determine the correct size of your disposable gloves, all you need is a flexible measuring tape and the illustration below. The correct size of your disposable gloves is important so that you can reliably carry out precise work with the disposable gloves over a longer period of time. First measure the circumference of your hand at the widest point with a tape measure. This is usually at about the level of the knuckles. The tape measure should rest on the skin, but not press against the hand or cut into the skin. 


Now read off the circumference of your hand and use the diagram to determine the appropriate glove size.





Correctly determine the size of the disposable medical glove

Medical disposable gloves are specified in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL. 


To determine the correct size of a disposable medical glove, the width of the palm from the beginning of the index finger to the lowest point of the little finger is used. Usually, the width of the disposable glove is measured rather than the palm.

This way you can try out which size feels best on your hands and with which glove the tactile sensation is best before you decide on a box or carton in the corresponding size.

081206-10 SolidSafety 'Tough' assembly glove, Premium, in size XL (grey)

The assembly gloves from SolidSafety offer optimal protection and extremely comfortable wear. The gloves come in "Premium" quality. AMPri only offers products of a very consistent "Basic" standard of quality, a more deluxe "Classic" quality or top-notch "Premium" quality. Nylon/spandex was used as the material for these gloves. Nylon has the advantage of making gloves especially flexible, which ensures a first-rate fit with high tactile sensitivity. Thanks to their tasteful grey colouring, the gloves are suitable for use in any setting. Thanks to the nitrile coating applied to the palm, the gloves deliver a very solid grip on dry objects, as well as on wet or slightly oily ones. The gloves achieved an excellent protection rating of level 3 (scale from 0 to 4) in abrasion-resistance tests, meaning that they are particularly hard-wearing. For testing in accordance with DIN EN 388, the gloves have to withstand a rotating disc covered with emery paper. Protection class 2 has to survive 500 to 2000 revolutions, protection class 3 between 2000 and 8000 revolutions. In the tear-resistance test, the product scored a 2 (on a scale of 0 to 4). This glove has received a rating of 1 in puncture-resistance testing in line with DIN EN 388, which indicates a lower puncture resistance. During the testing process, a nail is pressed onto the glove at differing levels of force. Gloves with a rating of 0 must be able to resist a force of 0 to 20 Newtons; for a rating of 1, that number rises to 20 to 60 Newtons.

Nitrile reusable gloves are rated as category II in the categorisation of personal protective equipment (PPE). This means that they protect against moderate risks. Consequently, the gloves are in line with the European and international standards EN 388, EN 407, EN 420 and ISO 21420. To sum up, the gloves offer a decent range of protective features. Along with the attributes mentioned, this product offers one further special feature: mechanical protection. These characteristics make them ideal for the following sectors in particular: industry, close-contact services, education, government authorities and occupational safety.
